Dear Columbus Drivers,

This winter when you are cleaning off your cars in the morning please think about the people that will be following you on the highway...or any road for that matter.

When you leave all that snow on your trunk, roof, and dangerously on your back window, it doesn't stay there during your whole trip. It ends up on my car as your driving down the highway!

I know you all think that your rear window defroster will take that snow right off but when it bitterly cold outside and your late for work and didn't let your car warm up all that snow ends up on my windshield.

I don't like feeling like I'm driving through a snow storm when it's not even snowing out. Especially when I'm exhausted after working allllllll night long!

Please take the extra three minutes to swipe off your forgotten areas like the roof, trunk and back window.

Wow I'm a slacker!

I've been quite busy lately with work and Christmasy kinda things...

I know I said I would repost some pics of my Christmas decorating but lets just say that nothing else really got done....EXCEPT...

Kaylan got me a sprig of mistletoe!! I so wanted one and she put it along with my Christmas gift!

LOVED IT!

Last Monday at this time I was hanging out at the PICU Christmas party having a grand old time with my work peeps...I'll show you a couple of the tame photogs...







It got pretty crazy but was just what I needed after working my life away in November!

Tomorrow is the day I head back to Canton to hang out with the fam for Christmas!

I am really excited for Christmas this year for some reason. I know it's not going to be a big Christmas but I just love being home and I love buying gifts for people and watching them open them!

I bought a lot of gifts this year whos proceeds helped charity. I hope people appreciate this!

I know this was a shot stubby post but I'm in the middle of watching Julie and Julia and finishing up my present wrapping!

VIVA LAS VEGAS!!!

So it's totally official! The flight has been booked and the hotel room deposit put down!

In just over a month I'll be hanging out here for 4 days and 3 nights for the first time EVA!! Even better is I'll be going with some of my fave peeps from the PICU!


We will be laying our pretty heads right here...



Hopefully there will be lots of this...



And winning lots of this...



Annnnnnd we are really hoping to get to see this...

Lazy Sack of Bones...

That would be me today...I worked the past four nights in a row and slept alllll day today!

Woke up at 5pm...

Got some dinner...

And I'm back on the couch at 8pm and could see myself going back to bed soon...

LAZY!

Gotta force myself to do my Christmas cards...

Work Christmas party tomorrow night at the Winking Lizard...

Today celebrates the birthday of, without a doubt, the most fabulous, fantastic, completely amazing woman I know...

MY MAMA!!

She truly is my favorite person in the world and I can't imagine life without her...

I mean what other mom would take shots with you at your graduation from nursing school???




She works so hard in life and made growing up pretty freakin awesome even if it meant sacrificing things for herself...including her sanity sometimes!

I so wish that I could give her everything she wants and deserves but unfortunately I haven't found that money tree yet!

I have a feeling she knows how much I love her but I just have to put it out in the universe to make sure.

Ma, I hope you have the best birthday ever (although nothing can top the surprise party from last year!)

Can't wait to come back home to see you!

Some More Decorations!

So on my trip home I got some more decorations for my apt!

I got some ornaments for the tree...stuff for my dining room table...and some lights for outside!

My camera is dead so I took some pics with my phone...they aren't as good so I'll take some more once I get my lights up!

Today I think I would get blown away by the wind if I tried to hang up lights outside!

Charli is having a hayday trying to attack the leaves from inside the sliding glass door...




She just jumps almost to the top of the door to try and get the leaves! So cute!

Back to the Grind...

Well sadly my trip to Canton is over...

It was a much needed trip and I'm so glad I went!

My poor ma is still hobbling around like an old lady but she's getting better and better every day! Too bad she now has a wicked cold on top of her lousy knee!

I already can't wait to go back for Christmas!

I also got to hang out with my sister quite a bit...I went over and saw there decorated house and tree...and my lil nephew Caddie...



I need to start taking pics with my camera instead of my phone cuz these pics don't do justice to how cute this pup is!

I also got to see a super cute lil baby! My friend Tim's new daughter Ella has arrived and could not be cuter! She's just under a month old and such a good lil baby...Sadly I have no pics of her but don't worry...next time I go back I'll make sure to snag some!

All in all it was a fantastic trip...I feel like I didn't do as much for my mom as I should have...

It was good to hang out with the fam and old friends though!

Can't wait to go back!

Charli is Adorable...Hands Down

So my apt is not very big...

Not many places for Charli to hide...

I could not find her today for a good 5-10 mins and take a look at where she finally popped up...


She wasn't only hidden in my bed but she had crawled into my duvet cover between that and the comforter! She even shoved herself between the snaps on it somehow!

I felt a little bad when I found her because once she knew I saw her there she came out...she looked so comfy hanging out there!

Simply adorable!

It's Official!

I stopped by the grocery store on the way home from work and saw this on an aisle end cap...

I can't wait to buy it and have my first bowl of the season!! :)

My Sister Joined the Club...

This happened awhile ago and I forgot the pic was on my phone...



The Bible verse says..."Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

I think it fits her very well...and she has now joined Holly and I in tattoo on the foot club...I'm sure my mother could not be more proud!

My Christmas Decoration Day!

Well to make Britt happy I'll tell you guys about my lil Christmas apt.

I even made myself some homemade Potato Bacon Chowder to complete my Susie Homemaker Day!


It was delish!!

Here is the most decorating I did...


My poor Christmas tree is very sparce but I didn't dare try a real one all by myself with Charli...so this sad little fake one it is!

I went to Old Time Pottery for more decorations but didn't really find what I wanted so this weekend when I'm home I'm taking a trip to the Flower Factory and loading up on more decorations...so there will be more pictures to come!

For right now I love it though! And Charli only tries to eat the tree sometimes...not all the time!

My Grown Up Christmas List

I am now to the point in my life where if I really want something I'll normally just buy it for myself...

I can't ask my parents anymore to buy me these crazy expensive gifts I want...but it doesn't stop me from wanting them!

Here are the things on my list...


I have wanted one of these for awhile...I think I might end up breaking down and buying myself an iPod touch here soon...


A couple people at work have one of these and I want my own! Although I do love having books on my bookshelf...


I'm feeling alittle behind on the times with these electronics but I did say that if I had a nice TV I wanted a Wii with it...maybe the Wii fit could help me shed some pounds!



These last two are kinda weird but I really want a fireplace screen so Charli will stay out of the fireplace! And I need a nice pair of studs for my second earring hole that I can keep in all the time!

In the end though I truly wish I could give all the money I have to this place...
Cancer sucks big time...especially with kids...it really breaks my heart everytime I have a cancer patient at work...I think I'm going to make a donation this year at Christmas though...become an "Angel of Hope" through WCOL when they do their St. Jude's charity drive...I've always wanted to do it when I hear those poor parents talk about their children and now I am in a position where I could spare some dollars for the kiddos....

Life Update

So I've been slightly absent to my lil blog here due to the fact that I had to be an adult and provide a good life for my kitten and I...although I don't think she appreciates me being away so much as she is awfully cuddly when I'm home!

See she doesn't want me to go!



So while all of you were having nice tasty Thanksgiving meals I was hard at work in the PICU...

Brandy and I did have a Thanksgiving meal at Boston Market...where they almost ran out of turkey and did run out of both pumpkin and apple pie! How can that happen on freakin Thanksgiving!?!?!

I totally missed my family but my work family was ok to be around...I even did some baking for them...


Delish pumpkin choc chip cookies! They were a big hit!

I did however get some bad news on Thanksgiving morning. My sister calls me frantic saying that my mama fell down 5 flights of stairs and won't go to the hospital...she woke me up out of my deep sleep and my foggy brain is thinking the worst...that my mother is comatose at my house or something of that nature...

Come to find out it was only 5 stairs...not five FLIGHTS...

Still though she took a good spill...take a looksie at the poor ladies knee and thigh!



Turns out she has a bad bad sprain and got a nice ace wrap and some vicodin...my dad doesn't seem to be the greatest of all nurses (and I don't hold it against the poor guy) but this weekend I will be going home to hang out with her and take care of her!

Thats about the extent of my past couple days aside from work and sleep...

I hope everyone had a super fab Thanksgiving!

Tomorrow I plan on decorating my lil abode and will full document every part of it!

My Apt May Burn Down...

So last night when I got home from work at midnight I walked into my apt and immediately wondered what the heck was on fire!

It smelled very strongly of smoke...especially in my utility room where my heater is...

I totally freaked out...

But not enough to get out right away...

I first ate my subway and googled some stuff about gas leaks and smoke and such...

When I googled smoke smell some paranormal website came up about ghosts being around when there is a strong smoke smell...you have to tell them to get out that only good spirits are welcome!

That one COMPLETELY freaked me out!

The other ones said that if its gas that I need to immediately evacuate with my family and pets and get to a safe location...dont use a cell phone, computer, or switch any switches or anything like that...

Well I read that as I was on my computer...texting people...and watching tv...and I hadn't exploded yet...

The smell didn't go away after an hour so I packed up Charli and headed to the car...called 411 about 8 times to try to get ahold of someone at 1am and waited patiently until 2am when the Columbia Gas company came...

He brought his little meter and assured me there was no gas or carbon monoxide...

Today it still smells slightly of smoke...I hope it doesn't explode while I'm at work...

Happy Thanksgiving...

So this year instead of this...

Now don't get me wrong...

I LOVE my job...

But this is my first Thanksgiving away from my family. :(

Thanksgiving isn't a huge holiday for us. We normally eat dinner at home or at the most go to my Grandma's with a couple other relatives...but it's still family time and I haven't been home to see the fam in awhile!

Tonight starts my long PICU stretch...let me just tell you my schedule...

Prayin for some good nights with no craziness...which RARELY happens in the PICU...Just askin the big man upstairs to give me the strength to make it through this crazy schedule the next couple days....Next weekend I finally get to go home and hang out with the fam for a couple days and thats what I keep thinking about! That and the holiday pay and overtime I'll be making these next couple nights!

I Love Chikin

Very random...but I got some of this today for lunch...


And I must say they are just so gosh darn nice at Chick-fil-a!

The drive thru lady was just pleased to serve me and told me to have a pleasant day!

How can you beat delish chikin nuggets, a place that has diet Dr. Pepper...and super nice staff!

Another Weekend in Pics!

So last weekend was my fab friend Tara's wedding in lovely Zainesville Ohio...and by lovely I mean awesome and by awesome I mean in the middle of nowhere with a bar full of townies lol!

First a lovely one with the groom...then the beautiful bride took time out for a PICU photo...before going into the reception we took a pretty pic outside...and of course we took a break from dancing for the obligatory "everyone squeeze yourself together so one of us can stick our arm out as far as it goes to get a group face shoot" pic!







In between group shots we also had tons of fun...fist pumping to some journey songs...Brandy buffing up her wedding favor to use on Theresa...the Bride and I looking awesome...and Brandy pretending to be a bridesmaid!

It was such a fabulous wedding and I am so happy for Tara and Ryan...and TERRIBLY jealous that they are on their honeymoon right now while I'm under blankets in Ohio!
